"I once saw the Alamo in Texas while high on LSD. It was dirty and boring, but I had a good time and laughed a lot. I wish I had a tab of acid now because this place is dirtier than the Alamo and almost as boring. I know it’s the oldest man-made thing I’ve ever seen, but I just don’t give a shit."

Week of Wonder

Sex, drugs, and cigarettes. My past few days have rolled into one and been full of the previous. Stress pushing past limits set by your current state of mind. This stress of course can be solved by the way of a few pretty little white pill. Trying to escape my own mind to take a break from the constant thinking, the ideas flying by at 95 mph, after the sedation begins I am faced with problems of The World, our world, the one we all share. The constant that I could predict previously has now been pushed to the NOW, I am still constious, I feel for the others who have lost their eyes and are now living in another life in front of me I try to bring them back to their norm, or at least save them from their selves. I could write more, I could. Should I? I do not know. I just want to find someone who can relate with my peace of mind I feel alone as I am socializing as if I’m talking to blind and deaf. Some will never be able to fathom the love that I try to reveal….

Violent Home

You can see the tension in the air

Smell the fear in each breath

Taste the words you want to say

Hear the cries of just another day

You want to sprint through the snow

Leave all you know behind

The numbness sets in

You start to feel the weight of your own head

Now quiet

You become content with the current peace

No longer in the same room as once before

But in the back of your head you still know

That the anxiety will invade your current position

There is no running, no way to win

You can hide for a while

but not for long

I need love-

It still shocks (and mostly just disappoints) me how SHOCKED people are when I tell them that it is 100% legal to be fired simply for being gay.
They look at me like I’m lying and say things like “nooooo, that can’t be right?”.
I have been fired twice (in Ohio) for being openly gay.
I have been asked:
to not wear my wedding ring
Not acknowledge my wife’s existence
To “just say you have a husband”
To just not answer “yes” when people ask if I’m married because “you’re not REALLY married”
To not bring my wife to the company FAMILY Christmas party
Let people just assume we’re sisters
Just make it easier on everyone and “just say you’re divorced”
These were not requests made from some Mom and Pop shop, I was a corporate executive for a large chain of high volume restaurants. My boss was the Director of Human Resources, and she would walk into my office and say the most ignorant things you can imagine.
People in America need to be educated on the reality that is life as a gay person in  this country.
It’s not all gay pride parades and appletinis.
We need a leg to stand on.
We need people to wake up and educate themselves on the rights we are denied.
We need people…gay, straight, and in between, to open their eyes, stop ignoring what doesn’t directly effect them, and educate themselves.

Now add in the places you can be fired or not even hired EXPLICITLY because you’re trans, shall we?
(Hint: that would be every state, with only a handful of city governments standing in opposition)
